Tonya Veasey — President
Veasey founded Open Channels Group in 2005 after more than 10 years in the public affairs industry. She is known for her impeccable relationships, political know-how and community outreach efforts conducted on behalf of her clients. Veasey received her undergraduate degree in Organizational Management from Paul Quinn College. She has experience as a registered lobbyist and a director of public affairs for a Fortune 500 Company.
Malizy Scruggs — Senior Vice President
Scruggs is responsible for the firm's marketing and operations and advises clients on integrated communications strategies. She has more than seven years of experience as a public relations practitioner in the areas of internal/external communications, media relations, government affairs and crisis communications. Prior to Open Channels Group, Scruggs performed in similar roles for the Dallas Housing Authority and HNTB Corporation. She is a Dallas native and University of Texas at Arlington graduate.
William Schlitz — Vice President
For the past 15 years, Schlitz has provided effective and innovative public relations, media relations and legislative lobbying. He began his career as a legislative aide to a member of the California State Assembly in 1993. In is his service to many different elected officials, Schlitz developed and sharpened his community and media relations skills. Throughout his career, he has focused on building strong community coalitions as a tool to advance the issues that he worked on. Prior to Open Channels Group, Schlitz served as the political and communications director for a large statewide organization in California, where he successfully implemented the organization's first media, legislative and political strategy. Schlitz holds a degree in political science from UC Davis.
D'Andre Brock — Senior Account Executive
Brock is an experienced public relations and marketing professional with more than five years of hands-on training developing, managing and executing media relations, public relations and marketing campaigns. Her background also includes internal/external communications, community relations, event planning, and brand awareness for organizations in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Brock is a talented communicator possessing extensive knowledge of news releases, feature writing, editing and story pitching. Brock is a Dallas native, graduating summa cum laude from the University of North Texas with a degree in public relations and a minor in management.
Tamesha Robinson — Office Manager
Robinson has six years of experience in organizational/office management, project development, event coordination, fundraising, and community outreach. She has a passion for linking companies and individuals together for the opportunity of professional and business advancement. Robinson is particularly skilled in building and maintaining relationships within the company as well as establishing effective partnerships. She graduated from Texas Wesleyan University with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and is currently pursuing her Master's in Organizational Psychology and Business Development.
Corey Lark — Account Executive
Lark is a skilled communications professional, with more than three years of experience executing public relations campaigns, coordinating special events and implementing communications strategies. She is a talented graphic designer whose creativity, software knowledge and experience allow her to provide a wide range of services and deliver quality work. Lark is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce young professionals group, Vision Fort Worth. She graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a minor in Public Relations.
